Church of San Andrea Apostolo

In the list of titles of 1300 the church of Casigno, in a place once called Casignano, is registered with the name of St. Maria. In the following document, dated 1378, the title is already the current one. The medieval church was much smaller than the present one, with only two altars in addition to the main one. The church was rebuilt in 1843 on the oldest remains of a religious building. The church stands on a short terrace halfway up the slope, facing Mount Labante, in a panoramic position. It has a gabled façade preceded by a churchyard into which the cemetery opened; the sides are partially hidden by the aggregate volumes. The single hall is paved in Venetian and ribbed barrel vault with nails; the quadrangular presbytery, vaulted like a false dome, precedes a quadrangular choir with a barrel vault.
