The Il Trebbo Cultural Group, born in May 1987 in Maserno di Montese, was born with the aim of promoting historical research and the conservation of local culture to be handed down through the edition of books written by its members.
Since 1992, in the seventeenth-century rectory adjacent to the church, he has managed the collection of Montesine things: reconstruction of environments and exhibition of everyday objects of mountain people between the mid-nineteenth century and the nineteenth century of the last century.
Since 2001, the spaces have expanded to accommodate the Memorie d'Italia collections dedicated to the period of the Second World War.
In 2010 the Museum System of Iola di Montese Memorie d'Italia was created , consisting of the collections of items of Montesine and Memorie d'Italia to which are added the Percorsi della Memoria, a path whose beginning is adjacent to the museum, among the chestnut trees where trenches and an observatory on the summit were recovered. Additionally in 2010, the museum was recognized as a museum of quality by the Institute for Cultural Heritage of Emilia Romagna.
