Near Monzone, the Poggiolo retains a sixteenth-century tower with evident defensive characteristics: its square-plan mass with a four-pitch roof and the dovecote tower delimited by the classic terracotta cornice are noteworthy. We have news of the locality already in 1315 but not of the tower.
